Stop the threat!

See that gigantic marina pictured above? That’s Safe Harbor’s South Bay Marina at San Diego, California.

See the marina in the photo above? That’s Safe Harbor’s present marina on the “public” waterfront in downtown Beaufort. See that parking lot at the right in  the photo above? That used to be navigable water and pristine marsh in downtown Beaufort just like the area at the top of the photo. See the large yachts permanently parked at the marina? That’s Safe Harbor’s current private, locked commercial dock for these boats at its marina operation. That used to be a small dock for small and transient boats that just keeps getting bigger.

See the steel gates and signs along the waterfront at the Downtown Beaufort Marina? They are locked by Safe Harbor to keep the public out. See those docks that the public is prohibited to access? They are rented by Safe Harbor long-term for private, locked docking of those large private yachts.

See that sign? That’s what Safe Harbor has made Beaufort’s downtown waterfront look like. The downtown waterfront is supposed to be dedicated to the public. It now looks like this because our city council has turned the marina over to a private, commercial company, prohibiting the public.

Beaufort’s public waterfront, which is part of the public park shown above, is under threat by a private commercial, locked marina. This website is our clarion call to the citizens to PROTECT BEAUFORT and STOP THE MARINA LEASE.
